Low wage jobs and consumption in Greece
Έτος έναρξης: 2023
The purpose of this research is to analyze the consumption patterns of low-wage households in Greece and assess the impact of various economic events, such as changes in the minimum wage and inflation, on these patterns. The consumption of goods and services is a fundamental measure of human well-being, reflecting how households allocate their resources to maximize utility within their budget constraints. However, low-wage households, due to limited financial flexibility, often have to spend their entire income to meet basic needs, leaving little to no capacity for savings. This makes them particularly vulnerable to economic fluctuations. In a country like Greece, which has experienced significant economic instability in recent years, it is crucial to understand how these households manage their limited resources and adjust their consumption habits in response to various economic events.
