Internship program

The internship program was held since 2011 and it is funded by the E.U and national sources in the framework and the Operational Program “Education and Lifelong Learning” of the Ministry of Education.

The scientific coordinator of the program is Dr. Ioannis Venetis, Associate Professor.

Aims

The aims of the Internship program are:

  • Connect students with the labor market offering orientation to the labor market and its needs
  • Students to explore their professional talents and capabilities
  • Students to develop business relationships and gain experience of the labor market (real life conditions)
  • familiarize all labor market prospective agencies, organizations and businesses with the department’s human capital, its students and the knowledge and skills acquired within the department
  • •connection – interaction of “academic theoretical knowledge with practice” so as to support and improve the functioning of both, especially for courses directly related to the labor market in Greece

Rules

The basic rules of the program are:

  • The duration of the internship is three (3 ) months ( consecutive)
  • Finances up to fifty (50) students per year . The student salary is 330,3 € per month: Total net payment per student 990,9 €
  • Eligibility: final year students (4th year) and older years of study if there vacancies
  • Priority is given to 4th year students
  • The internship tasks are strictly of an economic/financial /administrative nature and the employer can belong to the private or public sector. The employer does not pay any compensation or securing the students (they are insured by the program against risk / accident in IKA)

Results

The program results for each year are the following:

  • 2011: 79 applications. 49 out of 50 students were placed and successfully completed their internship. One student continued as a full time employee in a private sector business (FBB Bank)
  • 2011: 80 applications. 50 out of 50 students were placed and successfully completed their internship. One student continued as a full time employee in a private sector business (eCONAIS S.A)
  • 2011: 104 applications. 50 out of 50 students were placed and successfully completed their internship. One student continued as a full time employee in a private sector business (NANORADIO HELLAS S.A)
