The Postgraduate Program (MSc) “Innovative and Sustainable Entrepreneurship” of the Department of Economics at the University of Patras is the first postgraduate program to combine three thematic areas: Innovation, Entrepreneurship, and Sustainability.

The academic field covered by the program focuses on the comprehensive provision of the appropriate framework and the development of the skills required for the successful advancement of innovative and sustainable projects in a dynamic business environment. It equips postgraduate students with an understanding of technology-based business management.

In this way, the MSc program serves as an essential asset for postgraduate students from various academic backgrounds and disciplines, helping them understand the dynamics of innovation and entrepreneurship through advanced-level academic courses on business operations and their management. It places particular emphasis on specific technological and business conditions in selected areas of technology application (for example, Information and Communication Technologies, Green Economy, Life Sciences, Construction, and Services).

Basic aims of the programme are:

• The promotion oftheoretical and applied knowledge in the fields of Innovation, Entrepreneurship, and Sustainability, which are primarily rooted in Economic Science.
• The advancement ofscientific excellence and research in the aforementioned fields.
• The development ofscientists capable of pursuing doctoral studies in related academic areas.
• The preparation ofprofessionals in both the public and private sectors with a strong background in Innovation, Entrepreneurship, and Sustainability, equipped to face the challenges of the modern economic environment.
• The enhancement of students’ ability tostart their own business or to join management teams in SMEs or larger enterprises that design and implement innovation and sustainability projects, with a strong focus on the green economy.
• The development of bothanalytical skills in the aforementioned areas and leadership and soft skills, as well as familiarity with modern technologies and the ability to address real-world economic situations in their future careers.
