The thesis forms part of the educational programme of the Department. It is included in the Undergraduate Programme (UP) as an optional module in the 8th semester of study (Spring Semester, 4th Year) and is equivalent to one (1) elective module, corresponding to six (6) ECTS credits, otherwise specified by relevant decisions of the Department of Economics Assembly. Upon completion of the dissertation, students are expected to:

• Have systematically engaged with an independent research question in the field of Economics and its applications.
• Apply the knowledge and skills acquired during their undergraduate studies
• Identify and evaluate international and Greek literature
• Develop research methodology and analyse theoretical and/or empirical findings
• Present well-founded conclusions.

Meetings between students and their supervisors

The final mark is calculated as the average of the marks awarded by the members of the examination board, rounded in accordance with the current practice of the TOE.

To pass the examination, a final average mark of at least five (5) is required. The supervisor must submit the marks to the TOE Secretariat during the period set aside for the submission of marks for the relevant examination period.
